Maps are too big

We need more smaller maps. Even back in the heydays with full 32 player servers maps like Magic Isle were always long, slow slogs of driving a tank for two minutes before you even see another player. Or maybe we do have more smaller maps but nobody votes for them? I think masterbath is ideally sized.

Re: CSMech 1.0

Do the 'mechs have to be so large? I'm assuming you've scaled them to fit a player inside the torso but they still seem a bit oversized. I view them more as waldos rather than Gundams. They could be smaller. During development they were initially twice as large as they are now. One idea was to make...

Re: CSMech 1.0

I didn't get time to do the update. I'll be travelling for work (Las Vegas!) this week, so I won't be able to update anything, but yes I planned on adding at least snipertron to Torlan. I've added them to AJY Randomizer. Probably add them to a couple of other maps too. The only difficult part on so...

Re: OLD Players

So it doesn't work right on the server. I added it to the vehicle load out map. It flies, but the primary fire doesn't work, and the link beam is erratic. This is always the frustrating part. It works on my machine™ is always a devs famous last words :D Best way to fix these is to setup another mac...

Re: I propose a new rule:

Going to the other team's core in the beginning and just killing vehicles or spawn killing is pretty lame. I've only placed a few kick votes on the server and one was for someone (I'll let you guess) doing just that. I'm more talking about when you have the entire map except their primaries and it's...

And let me play devil's advocate for a minute: https://www.omnipotents.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1670&sid=fa6dc4ea6a3537b43145c1aae8c39a6d#p1670 Should we discipline "dirty" play, spamming the core or strategically spamming initial nodes (aka Xexx move)? Those are kind of a dick move...

Re: I propose a new rule:

Yeah, I'm all for the non-lethals. I would reserve session kick for seriously bad behavior. Terramerge was session kicked for team switching and I haven't seen him back since. It was a rule violation true but it was done in good faith. It's not like he was switching to the winning team. At the same ...

Re: CSMech 1.0

Oh, and these are the current horns: Flakatron 0=The good, the bad, and the ugly theme 1='roger roger' from starwars Rocketron 0=Soundwave saying 'Operation destruction' 1=Soundwave saying 'Increase efficiency or be terminated' Shockatron 0=Ride of the Valkyries 1=Cavalry charge Linkatron 0=Voltron ...

Re: Attention Mappers: RGB8 vs DXT3

Well, that sucks. I have probably 100MB worth of .dds files used by my vehicle mods.

Everyone of them is a DXT3 file. Besides making the mods smaller, I wonder if they would look better as RGB8. I'm guessing RGB8 doesn't support alpha channel? That might be why I used DXT3.
