Omni test is back up! From NFO Re: Chicago issues Jan 14 2024 11:48:10 AM PT The issues in Chicago are actually due to components in our routers overheating, due to a major datacenter outage with their cooling system. We are unable to stop the packet loss for now as a result. We are actively monitor...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Is there a way to make the ut2004-bin process the highest priority and other processes (like this web server a low priority)? Something like 'nice' on Linux. Yes, we've actually paid our provider to give us high priority. You also can pin to a core in Windows, but I don't think I'd do that on a ser...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Can pin us to a host with a higher clock? Can we see load per core? Is there a way to make the ut2004-bin process the highest priority and other processes (like this web server a low priority)? Something like 'nice' on Linux. I can turn on the linux server any evening basically. Ill take out all the...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Just an FYI, I will shut off the server on weekdays. Figure by about 7:30PM EST ill start it back up. I did some quick searching for a VPS service with fast some fast CPU's, some exist. The server, ucc-bin binary, will only work on one CPU core anyways so it is not like we need a pile of CPU's, just...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Yes, and I can see it on both... however on epic if gives a seemingly random port number to connect to. I saw this behavior when I first started testing running a server. I tried the ServerBehindNAT setting and a few other things but it never worked. Not really worth the debugging time when it will ...

migrated to ssd and locked in CPU to 3.8Ghz... Added bots and set their skill to max, they are kind of annoying actually.

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Roger, what's the CPU hardware? I'd like to run a test one night where we automatically redirect to the linux server to test performance. Ryzen 5 3600X - it should scale to 4Ghz or so. It is on a really slow disk right now - I shut down the server for the next hour or so. I will move it to an ssd d...

Re: ut2004 still in development?!

For linux you can try stuff like - $ make TARGETTYPE=linux COMPILER=gcc MACHTYPE=amd64 fails fairly soon.. missing includes, but maybe a path problem. probably would take some time to compile it and I am not even sure if there is really a benefit. The revision is not the newest from what I can tell ...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.

Sorry, shoulda mentioned - Ill probably shut it off during the day when I am doing other work. I turned it back on last night. This is currently served from a 300Mbs connection (up and down) via fios. Technically it should be enough. The thing I am most wondering if the file system I am using on it ...
