Re: Suspense 2K4
Ok V7: Changes: - Added some player starts at the core (too few with full server) - SPMA replaced with standard Goliath. This allows for some tower shots, but the Goliath isn't exactly accurate. 30s respawn (Artillery had 15s respawn..). This also allows better coverage of the 8/5/9 lake nodes from ...

Re: Suspense 2K4
Ok, so I can remove the SPMA. What to replace it with. I don't think the fire tank causes as many issues as the fire bug. And I don't think the ballista is that big of deal. I could replace them with other tanks (Goliath II, or maybe Mirage Panzers). Part of the intent was to have some kind of tank ...

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.
We aren't running on VM. I don't know exactly how/what their 'high priority' is but we have it.

Re: Recent Lag ... and what's being done.
Is there a way to make the ut2004-bin process the highest priority and other processes (like this web server a low priority)? Something like 'nice' on Linux. Yes, we've actually paid our provider to give us high priority. You also can pin to a core in Windows, but I don't think I'd do that on a ser...

Re: Is the utstats db permanently disabled now?
CEONSS still has stats after the master server went down. I wonder what they are doing. Are we sure it was OLStats and not something wrong with our server instance (hung port etc)? It absolutely was OLStats. If I enable it as ServerActor the server wouldn't start, when I disabled it it worked. I'll...

Re: Optimizing UT2004 for Win10
FYI. If you're already using d3d8.dll the one that's ~102kb. That's the DX8 to DX9 converter, you can go back to DX8 by just renaming it/removing it. I didn't have any issues with maximized windows, didn't need that other DLL in the thread -- in fact that one just made my UT GPF on startup. Going to...

Re: Optimizing UT2004 for Win10
So the other thing I played with was the UT Settings: Best is to set all graphics settings to Lowest or off. I played with them and the Texture Detail seems to have the largest impact followed by Physical Detail. For example while specing Minus-KitchenSink, my fps dropped with Texture Detail set to ...

Would you donate for a faster, better server?
So we have a relatively inexpensive hosting today. Its about $436 a year, which includes the Game Server, Redirect and this forum. Given some of our heavy maps we are thinking about testing on a dedicated machine with a faster processor to see if that resolves some of the lag. To continue this, it w...

Re: Optimizing UT2004 for Win10
I'm using DX8 with that converter from here Cool Running DX9 figured newer was better....well mostly since in the past I had issues with NVIDIA drivers causing issues with UT2004. My real goal is to just keep sustained 160 or so given limits of the monitor anyway, no point in having more frames tha...
