Some laser mice don't respond well on hard surfaces, and I find having my super thick extra large 35" x 16" mouse pad provides a little extra arm/wrist support. "Why such a large mouse pad?" asks McLovin... covers the whole right side of my desk and functions as one pad for two computers.

35"x16" ?!?! your mouse pad is three feet wide :o McLovin's gif is accurate

My mouse pad is 13"x10" and I thought it was big.

What is your dps set to?
in-game sensitivity?

My dps is set to 800 on my mouse. It's a logitech hero g403 and dps is programmable all they way up to 25000
UT in-game sensitivity is set to 1.0 with 0 acceleration

Your numbers seem a bit high to me... I have a Logitech G502, with the dpi at 500 and mouse sensitivity set to 0.25. I also have acceleration turned off. Long ago I used to have the dpi set higher like you, but noticed the flick wrist type shots would miss a lot, usually overshooting the target. I think it was Anonymous that recommended a lower dpi and acceleration on the old forum, it's worked well for me ever since.

Hmm ok. I can try lowering my dpi some more. My problem with it really low is I have to lift and drag to do big turns.

I've noticed I'm pretty sensitive to the angle of my arm.

right angle is no good for me

needs to be like this, feels like I'm reaching for my mouse.

Code: Select all

I think the main difference is shoulder is involved more. I hit a lot more flick shots this way.

That's why I have the really large mousepad, the lower dpi naturally makes you go further to turn. But, when it comes to aiming, the slower movement helps tremendously. Only time I have to pick up the mouse repeatedly to turn is when using the deemer tank and need to turn the missile sharply.

I tried 500. It took a bit at first but seems to be better than 800. I tried 0.25 sensitivity...my god man you must get a workout lol. I'm going to stay at 500/1.0 and see what happens.

I realized after jumping between UT2004 and UT4 that dpi settings depend on resolution.

Enyo, what resolution do you run at? I'm at 1600x1024 as that gives the highest frame rate.
