Q-36 Space Modulator
I slapped the portal gun onto the flying saucer and came up with this thing
it needs some polish but is mostly done. primary fire = orange, alt = blue. The portals die when the vehicle dies.

Is the portal made from a translocator? I’ve never thought of a vehicle using that weapon.

The physics behind it is called warpzone in ut2k4.
The portal-gun is actually a gamebreaking weapon. You can shot through a portal and also attache it on a vehicle. So imagin putting the portal on a wall, the other on the buttom from a flyer. Than shoot with a mino through it and you have a bomber. =D

You can shoot through them, but that doesn't seem game breaking. If it is I'll make it so you can't shoot through this one.

Wow very cool. And potentially map breaking...but that can be fun!
How many portals can it open? Just two?
And they stay until it dies? Or should there be a hard time limit?
Should there be a way for the enemy team to close them?
On a related note, it's been suggested to increase the damage output of the Flying Saucer. I don't know what it is, seems like its less than a manta/raptor.

If I made it so you could spawn multiple portals I'd have to change how they spawn, otherwise you wouldn't know which portal goes with which. Left click for orange and right click for blue won't work since you could create two orange portals and then two blue portals and not know which side they are connected to.
I wasn't sure about how they stay, so they are tied to the vehicle's life. The PortalGun mod ties them to the player - they exist until the player quits so they are basically permanent. Probably not appropriate for ONS. Tying them to the vehicle seemed like the right thing to do.
I could try making it so the enemy team could shoot the portal to close it, but that also ruins the fun! They might want to shoot through it also, not shoot it to destroy it. If you want to destroy it you can go find the flying saucer and kill it. It has no weapons so should be an easy (but fast) target.
