Re: lag
I noticed this last week too figured it was just me! Shock beams and lasers are very laggy to me and you have to aim a bit off to hit the target. Hellbender twin beams seem unaffected.

Re: lag
I get it with twin beams too, except it's even worse - even with no rotation the aim will be off to the side. I have to drive and move the bender to get it to aim straight.
I wonder if UTComp would fix this, at least with regular weapons.

Re: lag
For me
Yes- shock, delay on electric lasers( hurricane, troop etc), noticed it on twinbeams now (mantis) but it's negligible, pheonix beams
No- railgun, lg , sniper
So basically any beam type of weapon with a high rate of fire.
Only happens on randomizer maps

Re: lag
So I wonder if it the high rate of fire (we reduced the ROF on starbolt for this reason), that the server is "dropping" the effects. The Server will drop effects it deems unecessary to keep the fps/responsiveness.. This is why for weapons that fire rapidly with effects best to keep the ROF low.
However, doesn't really explain Shock Rifle, which fires relatively slow.

Re: lag
Dang it snarf. You were doing 360 beam tests while they were killing our core with colbye's mangina!
I haven't noticed the lag in mass destruction and that map has a lot of laser weapons plus the Bolt. I'll see if it lags in non randomizer maps today.

It still took joe 2 shots to hit a stationary target 'hax'
