I'm not sure that I've seen UT2004 use over 1GB, let alone 2.

And "patching" UT2004.exe might get you flagged as using a modified executable...

It fixes the "Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk." crash.

Ah that one, I've gotten that a few times...error is pretty puzzling referencing the hard disk.

That crash was most likely experienced back in the day due to running out of RAM and the OS couldn't page out due to the HDD being full. Since then the context of that error changed.

Also, leave CacheSizeMegs=32 which is the default. The higher this is set, the less memory the game gets, thus the game will run into the error more easily.
