Spec idle kick

Hi, any chance specs could be spared from getting kicked?

I can look, I think we should still have a timeout if I can make much longer though, I'd have for some stain to spec and then forget and walk away.

Even like 10 minutes would be good. It's nice to have it open while doing something else on your phone or whatever. But I get you don't want the spectator team to be slammed with people who are totally afk and just have UT open all night.

The only time I get kicked as a specatator is when a new round starts and it doesn't let you spec a player. Doesn't happen all the time. If I am specing a player I don't get kicked. Just have to be ready to pick a player to spec when the next round starts.

What's wrong with permanent specs? Most servers allow it, and it will make it much easier to get the server started during the early hours because you aren't constantly returning to a "you've been kicked" message, which might just be the difference between someone playing or skipping the night.

Yeah there isn't one, clanmanager kind of works but it stupidly doesn't have a warning before moving people.

The problem is the stains that will spec and go afk on a busy Friday night. There’s a max number of specs and it could potentially fill up partially with afk specs while others are waiting to get in and play but can’t. Not a highly probable scenario, but a potential one with unlimited spec time.

Why would you want to sit there forever as a spec anyway? I guess to show that you’re hanging around waiting for players to show up?

I can't entirely agree with unlimited timeout for spectators.

I've never been in the "let people sit idle in the game" crew. That BS excuse about getting another beer or taking a call from your girlfriend is lame. "All you had to do is show up." If you are away from the keyboard, it's a HUGE disruption to your team and very disrespectful to your teammates. Why I'm not a fan of allowing specs to sit all night taking up a spec slot doing nothing and AFK.

1. Why are you spectating and away from the keyboard? What's the point? If I'm spectating, I've got my head on a swivel looking for angles that the player doesn't see.
2. Aren't there a limited number of spectator slots? There have been a few times when I wanted to spectate a game, but all the spec slots were full.
3. There are plenty of ways to spy on what's going on without taking up ingame resources. For example:

LOL...this isn't real war, it's a game. I could see if a player did it all the time but once in a blue moon isn't a big deal...
