Except for the stains who love to jump in my gunner seats and then fail to ever shoot at anything attacking us, or if they do, completely miss every shot.
True, bad gunner is worse than no gunner.
Not sure how feasible an eject passenger is... oh I know we can code it, not sure we want to...

That's actually not a bad idea! Could be very useful when you're piloting a 2 seat flyer and you hover over an unlocked node, tell the gunner to hop out to step on it... and they just sit there. Then you can eject them right onto the node.

I could see it being abused, i.e. used to team sabotage, which some stains are also apt to do.

Along those lines I wish we could get the Helix pickups working on the server. For those that don't know offline the helix had link and healing aboard that passengers riding could use... We could also add Chutes.. Not sure why it doesn't work but it was cool idea. Could have the helix dropping paratroopers...

But yes I think the ejection seat would ultimately get abused.

That’s weird because the link ammo works on the Monster Evo server. Yeah with that feature (used with teamwork) then it’d be a vehicle that needs a coordinated attack to defeat.

Hmm.. I wonder if they have a different version.
Having pickups on the Helix would make things interesting. If you can do ammo, you can do health, DD, chutes, weapons etc.

With the player cap increased, would it make sense to adjust the maps that get played often during prime time to have additional vehicles/prune the dogshit vehicles? Take for example Dria and the junkyards, which I actually like playing at 12-16ish players, but hate at higher player counts. When there are fewer players, you can actually get in a vehicle that isn't absolute shit-tier and have a very active game. On higher playercounts, these maps turn into sitting at the core/nodes waiting for a vehicle to spawn since there is nothing to do on foot on these maps (unless you really want to spend the next minute walking to the next node only to die to a tank or sit spamming avrils or shock rifles). Also, the vehicles that do spawn are mostly dogshit since the good ones are usually whored the whole game combined with 50%+ of the vehicle roster on these maps being worthless. If these maps are played with more than 32 players, this issue will be even worse.

If increasing the vehicle count isn't preferred due to it potentially increasing the spammyness of the maps, the vehicle roster needs to be pruned so that the vehicles are mostly within similar power levels. A map should not have a bunch of power vehicles like mechs, classic minos, bombers, etc when 50%+ of the vehicles that spawn are complete garbage, like the goliath II, wasp, flare raptor, hydra, or too weak to reasonably be able to survive long enough to do anything against the op shit, like the trucks, badgers and mantas. Its fine for a few trucks/mantas/badgers to exist since they are useful to get to nodes and provide some fire support, but when the enemy has a line of tanks and 60 million fliers in the air, you need to have some firepower to have any hope at recovering.

Another option is to do what I did on Tek and move all the power vehicles to the primaries and core. That way, your team always has an opportunity to make a comeback since the enemy team isn't going to have an op vehicle that spawned at a node your team lost. If the core spawned nothing but power vehicles and the nodes spawned the badgers/trucks/mantas/weak fliers, the games might be a bit more balanced. Having a predator spawn at the center nodes on Dria today was just plain silly.

I wouldn't change the maps around the increased player cap. We don't actually have that many players.

It does. I think I pulled it from there originally though. And none of the pickups work on the server. Not 100% we want it to...health packs no biggie, but put a bunch of link in there and 2 linkers and it could end up being very hard to kill.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you here. On Tek, there's so many power vehicles that
1. you had to increase the health because 4 or 5 power vehicles obliterate each other fast.
2. Map stalemates in the middle...and team with good aimers sit back and Mino/Hurriance/Mobreaker/FireTank spam.
3. Part of Onslaught is the "reward" node that contains a special vehicle or two, that helps you take the map.

Sure on some maps they can be core heavy, others there's key nodes. It all depends on the map.

Remind me next time you're in a classic mino and a Wasp completely kills you in <5s. Hydra tank shell does 450 pts. (regular goliath 300), GII is a great medium tank with complete accuracy (some projectile guns like Goliath have built in drift/skew that's why often your regular goliath shots go wide/low etc. GII does not have this, you can pick off flyers with it..its not hitscan but its fast and accurate).

And many of the vehicles have extra gunner/passenger seats.... THAT GET RARELY USED. Dragon/Predator take 3 for example. Helix has 3 gunners, and could probably take 6. Scorps/boards/Mantas are your recon, fast movers.

Its all about vehicle map balance. Most of my edits all the vehicles have counters. Big tank vs. OP Flyer. Hitscan vs. fast vehicle etc.

Exactly. Which is why INCREASING vehicle count is a bad idea. It also shows the respawn times are too short. Its ONS...if you overwhelm the enemy team, wreck all their good vehicles well that's the point... now you get to take their core.

Perhaps, or its a good reward for building those key nodes fast. It has a fairly low chance of spawning there but can happen since its a randomizer -- which any rando screws up any hope of balanced vehicle play, but people prefer them over fixed spawns. You have to adjust your strategy if on randos certain nodes get good spawns. Its not a complete free for all, but occasionally you get a OP vehicle or a great combo.

Furthermore, I've edited several maps that are not randos, and relatively lower power and they get played once in a blue moon vs. OP randomizers. Look at the crying when the old Tuesday map list didn't have all that... ;)
