COLDCUT wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 10:05 pm yep its illegal to raise raccoon , and illegal to raise baby squirrels but i did.
for milk i sweetened it with some teaspoon of eagle brand milk
the racoon knew the difference in brands and rejected the cheaper version of eagle brand milk.
the squirrels did not care either way they just wanted fed.
oh I've seen those amazing videos too of that guy feeding his raccoons ,
i don't get that friendly to them but close.
they same raccoons have been coming to be fed for years now but are timid still , but not as timid as 1st time they all showed up.
for example the would barely look at each other or at me and slightest sounds terrified them.
they would usually be back to back reaching behind them to get the food so they'd now have to look at each other.
if nose or eyes locked they would fight .vicious too.
the reason .. who gives out food for free and food is always fought over ain't it. the strongest win the food.
i had to train many of them not to bite by whacking them with a long branch some could not stop themselves from fighting no matter what so i ran them off. many have a language i call growl speak . one word i caught and use to call them is the one for food ... fwoot
they were amazed i could speak some of their language but years and hours listening to them let me talk to them .
right now i'm down to some 12 or 15 now of them as they don't come or got eaten , many migrate as they are fattened and like to wander for miles.
what is that on your breath it smells like fwoot... take me there.

last year i was sooo happy oooo 5 babies ,, the size of my hand... next night ooooo 10 babies ... next night oooo 15 babies .
the moms bring the babies and leave them as its more secure and safer than the area they live in.
its called a park but only wildlife live there.
neighbor got mad at me for shooting the deer they let come in their yard ,
told him they have ticks that cause disease for life. and might
stomp his kids they let wander as close at 10 ft away ..
he asked me .. just name one person on this street that has deer tick fever. hmmm i go.
lemme think . so we met at fence a few min later aaaaaa i know the kid next door to you on other side .
is that close enough for you??? i said.
he was quiet then and went back in house .. month later the deer lovers installed a 8 ft fence around the property to keep out the deer.
deer make good food when barbecued.
the ticks drop off and then the ticks climb the trees waiting for the next warm meal to walk by
then they drop down onto subject and eat and inject virus. ewww.
i give the raccoons a bath to rid any ticks or fleas , they love it. they all play in it.
next to bath is a bird fountain they drink from
i stopped using dishes as that is the way they might pass on the diseases they can carry.
i had a few get rabies and passed it on to others using the dishes but not from concrete or wood .
so i stayed using concrete , the wading type pool has soaps and flea treatments so they won't drink it
easy to spot rabies ,the hind legs give out they drag them as they stop working 1st
lately no rabies now for over 2 yrs . a few get hurt in fights though . still can't stop them fighting on way to eat.
and coyotes catch the wounded or diseased easily.
no telling how many i have lost due to coyotes.
i have a few videos of them knocking at back screen door.
the screen door is not plastic screen i use a metal screen i ordered especially ,100 feet just to get 6ft use of it.
its illegal to feed deer but all other wildlife is OK.
i hate deer they kill all the trees (scraping them with horns )and think the flowers are a free salad bar.
i save my pee and spray it everywhere or put out some mothballs
both help . the raccoons like to crawl on roof and find a nice rotted wood and dig in
so all trees are cut back and i put a very sticky glue on chimney to stop them from climbing the rock.
the raccoons love a warm engine so will crawl on top of it at night and tear up anything on it to make it softer.
i put a plastic vial with a moth ball in it.
the skunks , possums, armadillos also come to eat the same food as raccoons, they get along fine.
most are very timid , the baby skunks are not , they love to be petted and never scared enough to run away.
one day the animal control lady was in front yard putting a bag over a baby skunk
hey what are you doing ??? that skunk lives here in the back yard , leave it alone!!.
but she could not stop herself she just had to have that skunk for some reason. grrrr
some idiot called her so she had a job to do..
end of today's story
