Not a vehicle but double damage needs to go. We already have overpowered vehicles, there is no need for it.

The minimum nerf should change the weapons to non hitscan, something projectile like mirage raptor but with same minigun dps.

I think double damage should be used sparingly....
And the Helix doesn't even have a primary weapon. Driver is defenseless. So if you don't have a gunner you're a giant stationary target reachable by any weapon.
Helix vs. say LG Mech or Shock Mech, easy kill for Mech. Helix vs. any Bomber, Falcon, Wasp, Ifirit = dead helix, just climb above it. I guess I don't see where it needs nerfed compared to everything else?

You can't always climb above it, and it still out ranges most weapons.

I think most hitscan weapons should have a lower range than a projectile weapon. The helix itself isn't too big of an offender since it can't drive and shoot at the same time, but basically every other hitscan vehicle is annoying as fuck to deal with. Getting lasered from across the map right at the fog range is not enjoyable. Only vehicles like use their main weapon as a hitscan like the rail tank and odin are fine, since they have a turning speed and arc limitations and are easy to avoid. The laser/minigun/twin beam turrets that can spin around instantly and hit you from across the map are not. Projectile-based vehicles are useless if they can't even get within effective range before getting shredded. Its why I'm not a huge fan of AJY and Dria, as at least half the vehicle loadout is complete fodder and not even worth getting in.

I do agree with Sanka about double damage.
Like any good power-up, it's going to be in either a difficult spot or completely exposed spot. Because of that, flyers always take them, making it disproportionately benefit flyers, by a lot.

Yes I feel the same about the OMFG gun. Why do we need it? HSH is ruined with that tactic, it's not even a fun map anymore. In an effort to reduce camping you've made it essential to have defensive campers at the corner nodes and OMFG abusers on offense.

Agreed, and not to mention the 7 or so nukes on that map. I’d rather remove all but one regular nuke with a 60 sec timer and let all the vehicles duke it out.
I’m not opposed to DD on some maps though, but on some maps it shouldn’t be there. It’s helpful on Tek only because of the stupidly high HP on the Perseus and tanks. And I think Rhamp increased the health on some HSH tanks too. Reduce the health to normal levels and the DD isn’t needed.

Is there a way to make double damage not apply to fliers? I like the concept of the double damage, but it buffs fliers to stupid levels of op. It would be nice for tanks to be able to use it.
I'm already working on editing HSH to remove all the nukes but the link nukes and the one big one in the vent and increase the OMFG pickup cooldown by a lot. I agree that the way it plays now isn't too enjoyable with all the nuke spam.

Not sure you could do that since you usually pick up DD on foot and then hop into any vehicle. Maybe there could be a couple different types of DD, but would require some programming, not sure how difficult these ideas would be:
1. DD only foot soldiers, skate boarders and tanks can pick up (like the DD on RedPlanet where you don't have to get out of the vehicle to get it), lasts for at least 45 secs, but you lose it if you get into a flyer. Shorter timer on DD for tanks is a waste, they usually can't get anywhere before taking advantage of it. These could be placed in easier to get spots, more out in the open map areas, and not necessarily in the core.
2. Shorter timer DD, maybe 25 secs, that only flyers can pick up, no foot soldiers or tanks. The shorter timer keeps a flyer from dominating everything for a solid minute, and placing it in harder to reach spots means some of that short timer gets shaved off traveling. I don't like the idea of never allowing flyers to get DD, sometimes it's the only way to mount a comeback on a map your team has lost all/most nodes on, Nevermore is a great example.
