This could be an interesting idea. Have the powercore have unlimited supplies that have to be transported to a vehicle to resupply it. Or, a linker madness variant where every vehicle uses power to move and shoot, and they have to be recharged via someone transfering energy via linking, where linking an ally increases their energy and decreases yours. Vampire vehicles would steal energy from enemy vehicles. Any vehicle next to a powernode/core gets recharged and can act as relay nodes to link up the vehicles on the front. This could be implemented in a map fairly easily where all vehicles constantly take damage and locked powernode/cores would heal them rapidly. This would require teams to coordinate link chains connecting nodes to the front lines and fliers would only have enough hp to do quick strikes before flying back to recharge. Vehicles with multiple link turrets could split the link charge by targeting separate allies. A hospitaler could split the link beam 4 ways if it was crewed up. There would be new strategies in trying to cut off the enemy team's link network to starve the front.

We may as well import a couple of Command & Conquer maps onto this server. The play style might actually gel with us ONS players. Or maybe not. I believe C&C maps can be found on the racing servers.

I had a vehicle that had this mechanic, although you regained ammunition over time rather than via pickup (could work either way). This is effectively a cooldown / reload mechanic. Personally I think this is probably how most vehicles should operate, as it introduces some limitations/skill/pacing for vehicle weaponry, and adds value to vehicle secondary weapons, but it's about 20 years too late for that ship...

Yes, we have the Wraith, originally by Wormbo I believe, it shoots 30 Missles really fast, then slowly reloads. You can still fire but much slower. The GPolice Venom has on its #1 fire, basically a timer. You get a bunch of shots then the cannon has to cool.

I like that game mechanic, but a bit late now....

I do hate the unlimited spammy weapons (eg. Hurricane alt fire) that's abused by less skilled players. Its almost as bad as unlimited hitscan. :lol:

Maybe it's just me but the hitzone on the mechs seems really janky, I almost never manage to hit them even when I'm close by unloading on them with OMG rockets.

The hit box on them was actually expanded to make them easier to hit. Besides, the best weapon to attack them with is the lightning gun, the LG does extra damage against them. They move in a herky-jerky fashion, I imagine that’s why they’re difficult to hit with a projectile weapon (OMFG) vs hitscan (LG). In a mech it’s quite easy to dodge the rockets, but not the LG.

Pick up the “keg of whoop ass” on HSH, get your lightning gun and you can take down a mech pretty quick as long as they don’t see you first.

Should have also mentioned you can head shot the mechs too for extra damage. It’s kinda hard to consistently get a head shot, but you have to aim toward their forehead area. I think it takes 2 headshots without double damage and only one with. I always try to aim for the head on them and get a head shot about 25% of them time.

Yeah Headshot is like 840! So DD is 1680 which mostly kills mechs.

Those damn infantry are just too OP!
