You’re just not a very good map maker IMO, and many others agree. I don’t mind new stuff, I just don’t like trash that tarnishes the very nature of ONS. If attracting more stains was the intention, you succeeded.
If you actually listened to feedback I might bother. But you have weird and SUPER long rationalizations for everything you do. It takes multitudes of people bitching about your maps before you attempt an improvement.
Some have gotten marginally better. Most have not.
I believe vehicles should be universal and consistent across all maps as much as possible. That’s not wanting stale that’s common sense and basic quality control.

It checks the teamwork box but that doesn't make it fun IMO. Fun teamwork is, e.g., two hammerheads attacking a turtle.
I'm not complaining about it on linker madness - only as it trickles into more maps.

I recall mostly you complaining about junk/dria/minus and making maps that appeal to the stains so you didn't have to play these. And the nuker madness maps are not complex - more like channeled spam.Rhamp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 12:15 pm If the stains got their way all the time, we'd be playing nothing but junk/dria/minus, which you are fine with, but most aren't. Some of us want complex maps every so often. If I didn't start making maps, we'd still be stuck playing that boring ass shit every night and quite a few of the more experienced players have expressed they would or have started playing less if it was endless junk/dria/minus.
Back on topic, I don't think there is much hope for electric fields simply because the terrain is not interesting. Simply blocking a node does not make up for that. With complex terrain, you can often sneak a flyer behind the lines are wreak havoc. junk/dria/minus all support that.
Regarding the bombers, they are not overpowered on other maps because of a rich complement of AA. A successful bombing run depends on hiding behind terrain and well timing the boost.

This is epic. It needs put into a sign somewhere in a map.FuriousRabbit wrote: ↑Sat Nov 01, 2025 3:29 pm They would be happy sitting in two stationary tanks with infinite health, endlessly shooting at each other, and thinking, "gameplay doesn't get any better than this." I see it now, that and link trains are the future of Omni.
I'm going to think that now, next time I'm on one of these maps, getting linked for infinite health and shooting into a choke point, literally doing nothing but hold a mouse button down.

One thing I do think is good, is people are talking more, which means more teamwork, which means less need for these "teamwork crutches" like link train maps and too-many-vehicle maps.

Maybe one of these days I can add one of those "Oneshot" map types we were talking about a year ago where vehicles never respawn. The linker/nukermadness maps have trained players to link vehicles and position well, so now they might actually try to keep the vehicles alive instead of Hectoring them all in the first couple minutes and then be stuck on foot for the rest of the match.

Another option I'd be curious about is the one-shot-and-you're-dead-for-good option. I know it would break the classic version of the game, but it would be fun to try.
