Naw, it's only client side. It shouldn't affect the server and it's only 1ms.

Saw a few issues with link not locking on... from link gun to link flyer/tank/badger. It didn't always happen but happened enough to notice. I could link the node, but not the link vehicle.

Sometimes it worked for me, sometimes not. It's weird. It only happened for me with newnet=true. I tested offline with bots on my lan and it worked ok.

A few things that happened:

Couple of times I froze in the middle of a fight and then people would appear in a different spot.

Chupacabra primary wouldn't fire.

Couldn't link the chupa or link badger on several occasions.

That's all

Do you have 'enhanced net' box checked when you hit F5? The default was changed for everybody, so you would have had to hit F5 and check the box yourself.

I was running with the check box checked, ie. Enhanced NetCode on. I think I set update rate to 150 (roughly my max fps).

I didn't see any freezing, except when SuperSanka repeatedly killed me with his railtank....lol

I saw Azazel was complaining he couldn't dodge again. We need to ask him to lower his update rate. It affects how movement input is read, regardless if his checkbox is checked or not. His ping might be too high to run at the default 90.

I think we can cap the update rate on the server can't we? Maybe set it to 100 or something max?

Yeah, it can be capped on the server. MinNetUpdateRate and MaxNetUpdateRate values in UT2004.ini file. The current min and max values are 60 and 250.

The GUI will still let the player set the value from 30 to 1000 though, but it's capped on the server to the values above. I left mine at the default 90. Movement works fine for me. Azazel might need something like 45 though due to his high ping. I tried 200 before but it seemed like movement was worse for me, not as fluid.
