I found this
https://github.com/OldUnreal/UnrealTour ... seNotes.md
Version 469c. Pretty sure I'm on 3369. Does anybody know anything more about this?
Ah, I see. It's for Unreal Tournament 99.

ut2004 feels like abandonware at this point. I wonder how many ut99 servers there are.
Did any of you ever play Battlefield 1942? That game was pretty glitchy but a lot of fun. You can't really play it anywhere anymore.

I really wish they would open source it or something.
I've rebuilt xonotic from source in frustration from epic. Thanks Carmack and screw you Sweeney, heh.
Never played battlefield 1942. I don't like games that try to be too realistic. Ammo? Reload? Iron sight aiming? yuck.

Link is dead now, was it only this one file?
Code: Select all
$ md5sum UT2004_3369.zip
da9dc1ce2dc977b7607ae46100b5b1f8 UT2004_3369.zip
Have you compiled your own?
Cheers

Yes, it's just an archive. No, I haven't compiled it myself.

It's just the one file. I haven't tried, but you'll need VS 2005 to compile it for windows. Not sure about linux. Not sure about 3rd party libs it uses (e.g. karma )

For linux you can try stuff like -
$ make TARGETTYPE=linux COMPILER=gcc MACHTYPE=amd64
fails fairly soon.. missing includes, but maybe a path problem. probably would take some time to compile it and I am not even sure if there is really a benefit.
The revision is not the newest from what I can tell -
Core/Inc/UnObjVer.h:#define ENGINE_VERSION 3369
maybe it is 3369.3??
The game 'killing floor' uses the same named ucc-bin binaries to run the server, commands and ini files are basically the same, and also uses unreal engine 2.5.x.... I wonder how compatible they are... Looks like it had updated until 13/14
