I could probably make a cd keygen for UT2004, but at risk of my job. I think my current employer wouldn't be too happy with me making software that facilitates copyright infringement and violates the DMCA.
Don't UT keygens already exist? Surely some developers out there without scruples or worry of employer retribution have already developed one. Maybe we could find one and post it up in the forum for anyone that maybe finds their way back to the game (i.e. GTKU). I mean, what's Epic gonna do about it, they've essentially washed their hands of these games, would they really care in the unlikely event they notice?
Or, you could make one and just say, "pooty did it!"

There is a whole generation of gamers that will never know the joy of Arena FPS games and think all games are soul-less, joy sucking money grubbing micro transaction battle royales. I think there is enough interest and enough modders to make it happen. The only thing really lacking is direction. Godot is enough engine to do it.
That's true, until some gaming company figures out a way to monetize Arena FPS games in a similar fashion, likely through micro transactions. I can envision a version of onslaught where you could get skins to modify vehicle appearance as well as characters.
The two things I've heard my son and his friends say they really like about Fortnite are the ability to customize with skins and the large size and complexity of the maps. I also think they like the aimless wandering looking for goodies, fits their generational attitude. I have no problem with the micro transactions though, as long as purchases don't give players an advantage. I do think people that waste money on that crap are as dumb as our tank tards. I told my son long ago to not ever bother asking me to buy any of that garbage unless he gets an xbox gift card from someone. He only gets his new skins thru completing challenges.
I don't really blame the economic decision to put everything into the game that makes them tons of money, it's just business. Not excusing the underhanded shit Epic did to garner a half billion dollar fine from the FTC, but I get why they cut the lifeline off for UT. And who knows, it very well could've been a legal decision as much of an economic one.
