Why doesn't our Helix have those linkgun ammo crates and health pickups in it like the original?

The Pickups don't work on the server. Not sure if its something that could be fixed.

Heck yeah I’m glad someone else remembers this. Yeah it’s supposed to spawn infinite ammo on those little shelves. So if you’re in the cargo bay you can actually help.

It would be interesting with two people linking how long it would last, especially on like DJY.

This map gets boring when a team loses its primary and settles into a stalemate where neither team can build that primary. I think this is mostly because the attacking team settles into sniping from the corners rather than pushing for the core.

Can the center node be made a countdown node? I'd suggest 25% damage to the core every 1 min so the stalemate doesn't last longer than 4 min. If there is any real back and forth, then the countdown would never get activated.

This way we can enjoy the fun parts on the map (capturing the primary) without getting into a slog afterwards.

I agree something needs to be done. Once your team loses your primary, you are basically fucked unless you manage to kill the enemy odin, rail tank, and keep a link train alive, and have players ready to hit the secondaries. What if another primary was added so that the link setup would be something like this?

The added primary would be much easier to retake, as you don't have to go around that hill, and is much more protected. It also can't be supressed by the odin in my camping spot, so I won't be farming the enemy team for 20 minutes straight.

Just move it to the winter combat map

I thought about that. Indeed, not having 2 routes to the core is usually a flaw in an ONS map. But linkermadness is unique. 2 routes might deemphasize the importance of the link train whereas a countdown on the center node would not affect the current play.

The link train is why I was thinking of a primary being added in the same area of combat. If the winter combat version was used, it would spread everything out too much.
