May I suggest removing/nerfing some of the vehicles on this (and other) maps?

If you've ever played the CEONSS edit without those vehicles, you'll often enjoy long matches where the winning team often changes.

I agree that Gunshop doesn’t need so much hitscan. It’s technically a one-room map with constricted, linear attack lanes—making it prone to cheese and spam like we’re seeing.

Maybe keep the lighter hitscans (a truck + Mantis) and change out the rest.

So happy to change out the vehicles. Gun$hop is considered one of those "classic" maps, so other than vehicle consistency changes it was left alone.

So before we change it lets think carefully. Too much hitscan? Mantis and HellHound TwinBeams, 2 Golaith Miniguns. So what hitscan should go? If you got rid of both Mantis and Bender, then the Cicada would likely dominate...since no avrils by default. So not sure where the big bad hitscan vehicle is?

It just blows to keep trying for the center node when you have a EONS Crusader hiding at the corner node, a Levi around the other corner, a hellbender hiding behind that, a Mantis, and a tank all laying back keeping the middle down and protecting each other.
Good strategy, I'd say. Its really the sniper rifle one shotting the on foot players that's worse than the mantis or truck, imo.

What's the goal more on foot DM? Right now things are mostly balanced on *most* maps. When a good play on foot can easily take out a tank with rockets/flak/goo... maybe the infantry weapons are too powerful? My point is we've spent a ton of time nerfing some/buffing some vehicles to where there's at least some thought behind it (vs. Omni 1.0 where it was a free for all).

If you have specific maps in mind post them up on their own thread. As soon as I change a map, especially a popular or classic one.. someone else will complain "not enough vehicles", "Comebacks are impossible", can't defend the core etc. etc.

Happy to change things for good reason and with a good consensus... on popular maps need to be cautious.

For the record i'm not necessarily advocating for a change, just bitching. But if there are good ideas then sure. Maybe we ought to start a new thread then.

The goliath miniguns are fine, since fliers can try to evade and get behind cover. The main problem I have (and it seems others do too) is that the oneshot campy gameplay is just not enjoyable for either side. The primary complaints about hitscan are the oneshots, as I don't see any complaints about centaurs or shock rifles. I'd argue the bender should be replaced with one that doesn't have a twin beam and instead has a laser, like the fire or biohound and the mantis get replaced with a centaur. Both of these vehicles have good anti air capabilities without being oneshot campers.

I will be fine with a centaur instead of a bender, good idea 💡

I'd be good with replacing Mantis with Centaur, Bender with either FireHound or KingHH both have lasers and are really good close up... get your KHH to 3/5 and 2nd seat combo...although unlikely you'll make it. FireHound would be fun too, and not quite as powerful, but this isn't a OP map.

The other thing is this map likely had stock bender which its twin beams are much weaker than hellhound (which generally gets replaced into any map with stock benders)

Since we are at it, I wouldn't mind seeing a few boosted scorpions on here.. either EONS ones or a link Scorpion.

Just remove double damage from the top shelf, nukes and increase the time of the ion painter spawn. Put basic bender, basic raptors, leave cicada and fire fly. I'm really not a fan of these insta node kill weapons, it makes it so you're forced to use fliers to win. Default maps have maybe one.

It already has basic Raptor and Cicada, and a Flare Raptor which is barely stronger than a regular one.

The nukes are necessary on this map because the nodes are so open and exposed. It's extremely difficult to get them down AND built the old fashioned way because they can be hit from anywhere on one side of the map. It's hard enough getting one built even after nuking it, and it doesn't usually stay up for long. Removing the nukes would mean an extremely rare core kill, that's already rare enough on this map.

And the double damage actually gives flyers a chance to take out the bender, Mantis or Goliath II before getting one-shotted. It's a short DD too, only lasts 25-30 secs. Also extremely hard to take down the Levi without it. Might be OK to remove DD if all the sniper vehicles and Levi were swapped out.

Yeah I think the nukes stay and the DD should stay. Those are all fairly hard to get to unscathed.
I think just changing out the instagib vehicles will change it up enough without changing the rest of it too much.

I think we could remove the painters at the cores though they don't really serve any purpose except for other team base sabotaging.
