So despite my attempt at "keeping" with the theme and using cartoon vehicles (Tank, HammerCar, Weird Manta) I think those vehicles mostly suck (although tank is really just a goliath. and we could keep that one)
I did add the FireHound (looks like a hot wheels truck imo), and some EONS scorps, I think a small update with some useable vehicles instead of the cartoon ones would be good. And no Mino. And no flyers (flyers IMO would break this map by substantially changing the game play). Keep the tank, and a few scorpion variants (Snow Taratula, Snow Stinger, Fanatic, Hyena, FireAnt, WebCaster, EONS scorp), and the basic Manta. These all get whacked pretty easily by a couple of snipers, so they won't run the map.

It was also suggested to remove the SSR, but not sure on that. I really think the SSR would be better if it had Ammo, right now it has infinite ammo, so you could grab it, maybe you get 15 shots and then have to go back to normal weapons.

It was also suggested to put some goodies under the tree... but there is a node there so not sure that makes sense... overall its pretty good. Just need to tweak the vehicles.

I might get some time this afternoon to make some upates, even if just vehicle update would be good.

Hell yes! If their physics are good that could be fun. Hopefully they're not like battlebikes.

If I had map/editing skills I've always wanted to make some real life vehicles. I always thought it'd be funny to have a base model off-the-lot Hellbender. Hubcaps, normal color, smaller wheels, no weapons or accessories. The "Hellbender DX" or "Hellbender Sport".

Yeah, those cartoon vehicles should be completely deleted from the server, they're all garbage except the tank. Agree, this would be a good map for only ground vehicles, but nothing too OP.

RE the SSR... I've mentioned this before but a great replacement for that would be the Ion Annihilator. It's one shot kill like the SSR, but has an alt fire shock combo where the shock ball moves much slower than the regular SR, but does more damage. Last time I saw it was on the RMD server many years ago before they fucked it all up. The ammo was limited to 5 rounds so you could only do one shock combo, which could just about take out a node, another reason to limit ammo. You could make it a limited special pickup where it's timed, so once someone grabs it you have to wait like 30-45 secs before it's available again. That way not everyone is running around with it all at once.

I believe it's part of the weapons pack that has the GLR80 Grenade Launcher and the Benelli Shotgun among other some others, maybe that's a different group of weapons though, can't remember. I and some others have begged for years to get those weapons added to a map, this would be a great one to try them on.

I like the SSR because it's a part of UTComp so it has net code.

Love to try the Monster Trucks! I'll pull that down and see how it works.

The weapons are harder, like the Shotgun, I believe it won't have the enhanced netcode. Also I think the weapons pack that had the GLR80 had a bunch of other stuff in it that we didn't want and would have to pull it out. I haven't done much work on hand weapons -- so some learning curve there. And would want to extract them out seperately, and then we can add in the netcode hooks I believe (correct me here Snarf).

I think for a quick edit I'll keep the SSR, do a quick vehicle replacement (maybe today) and if I have time try out the Monster trucks.

It also feels like this map could use a painter or two...or maybe the Personal Ion Cannon.

Is absence of net code really a reason not to add them? Does that somehow prevent them being usable? If not, then please let's just add them to a test map or something and try them out before just saying nah. With all the new vehicles, the same old hand weapons for 20+ years is starting to feel a bit stale.

That weapon pack also had some other cool, not super over the top weapons too that would be great on Spiffingrad. There was a different type of minigun, but looked sort of like the M134 Minigun that Jessie Ventura carried around in Predator. There was also a flame thrower and some others I can't remember. I believe it also had something called the Razorbomb, looked like the Flak Canon, but shot fast moving bouncing razors out instead.

We can and should add the other weapons to some maps, like crispe and ion annihilator, but was hoping we could add them without removing SSR.

It's a fun map! SSR is great but it's not that much better than shock/lg with FWS. It doesn't need to be removed. I only pick up the SSR if I'm playing with multiple snipers on my team.

is on HSH and NiVA valley.

Its a tough one because its hard to see the beam when you're getting hit... but it is fun to cripsy the enemy. And I think it has a flashlight function.
